Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Focus Eye Health & Vision Care the leading provider of vision care products and services in Hackensack.

Dr. Matt Esperon, O.D.

Matt Esperon, O.D. graduated from the University of California San Diego in 1999 with a degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience and then from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 2003 through a US Navy scholarship.

He then served his commitment as a Lieutenant and optometrist in the Navy in San Diego. He worked with Marine recruits at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, co-managed laser surgery patients at the Refractive Surgery Center, and worked with Navy pilots at the Naval Air Station on Coronado Island and aboard the USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier.

He participated in research at the Naval Refractive Surgery Center for the use of new laser surgery techniques and technology, and for the use of laser surgery in Navy pilots.

He is experienced in vision therapy, ocular surface disease, and retinal disease through externships at the SUNY University Optometric Center Vision Therapy and Ocular Disease Centers, and through the St. Alban’s VA Hospital.
